Hi, friends! In the mood for a little street party? Of course you are. Too soon to be thinking about the weekend? Never.
Pop on down to the (new!) Nieuwe Binnenweg this Saturday 13 October to join in the festivities & help celebrate the re-launch of this iconic Rotterdam shopping street.
After many months of street renovations, building refurbishments & establishing brand new shops, cafes & the like; the Nieuwe Binnenweg has finally been restored to its former glory.
Dubbed Rotterdam’s Best Shopping Street of 2012 by Elle magazine, we couldn’t be more delighted to be a part of this festival & to have our very own store on this fabulous street.
During this Saturday’s festivities, Nieuwe Binnenweg store owners are offering their newest, most exciting & tastiest products. With Food, Fun & Fashion on the menu, there’s something to everyone’s taste…
Food: Taste all the goodies of the Binnenweg! From just 1 euro, try everything on the ‘Food Strippenkaart.’ You can grab a Food Strippenkaart from any Nieuwe Binnenweg store, or pick one up on Saturday 13th. Vote for your favourite food or cafe & help them win the Food Route Award!
Fun: Discover new & favourite shops with unique products, gifts & gadgets. Over at Heemradsplein, there’ll be a small program of entertainment & fun for all children, too!
Fashion: Experience style on the Nieuwe Binnenweg, as models show off the finest womens & menswear collections for the new season. The perfect chance to see, feel & try new fashion pieces!
Everyone is welcome to make use of the (free) historic trams taking the Nieuwe Binnenweg route this Saturday 13 October, so don’t miss out!
A big, warm welcome today to brand new Hubshop entrepreneurs, Qukel! We’re delighted to introduce to the shop this beautiful range of fun, educational toys for kiddies aged 0 – 3 years. With the apt motto “Facts & Fun”, Qukel toys are 100% eco-friendly & handcrafted in India. Yes, please!
These photos are of course just a snapshot of the treasures Qukel has to offer. The clever minds behind Qukel have designed a specific toy to correspond to each developmental phase in your little one’s growth. We simply couldn’t fit all 10 (!) Phases into one little blog post, so to enjoy the full range do pop on down to Hubshop!
At Hubshop we’re passionate about supporting Rotterdam based artists. Hubshop was born from a desire to support & promote local emerging designers & entrepreneurs, so it seems a natural progression to extend this promotion to local emerging artists.
We’re lucky to have a cosy upstairs loft at the shop, which we frequently use to exhibit small works from Rotterdam based artists. Every month a different artist exhibits here at Hubshop; each exhibition with its own official opening – Kunstavond at Hubshop.
During August we were lucky enough to exhibit work from Ansjel van Brakel-van Bellen (a huge thank you to everyone who came along & made the last Kunstavond a success, & to those of you who visited during the following weeks to admire the work!)
This month, we’re thrilled to share with you the work of Rotterdam based artist & illustrator, Christy de Witt. It is our pleasure to showcase a selection of work from one of Rotterdam’s most preeminent artists.
Pop along & join us at Hubshop tomorrow evening for the latest Kunstavond – admire the brand new art, enjoy a glass of wine & even a spot of shopping.
See you there!
To keep updated about coming Kunstavonds & other Hubshop events, follow us along on Facebook & Twitter!

We’re thrilled to share these brand new arrivals in at Hubshop!
Fresh in this week from brand new Hubshop designers Time For Wood is a very special range of Wooden accessories for the stylishly-inclined gents & ladies.
With watches, sunglasses & even iPhone cases made from bamboo & ebony, these babies won’t disappoint.
You’ve probably noticed the rising popularity of wooden accessories & lifestyle products recently – whether it’s recycled, upcycled or sustainably-sourced, we love it all! Here’s a spot of wood-themed inspiration… We especially love the rad wooden bicycle(!!!)
New month, new stock!
Yes folks, September is upon us! Summer has slowly come to an end & pretty soon the leaves will be turning golden & the evenings will be a little chillier.
We just love this time of year, don’t you?
One of our lovely Hubshop designers, Sebastian of Round Things to Wear, has been busily crafting new additions to his jewellery range – in-store now!
Among the goodies are new necklaces, bracelets & rings – phew! Each piece is painstakingly hand-carved from Epoxy Sculpt (a kind of modelling clay).
You can read up more about Sebastian’s creative process here, but these babies are best appreciated in person!
Functional innovations. Scandinavian design.
Remember a few days ago we told you guys about all the exciting new stock popping up in Hubshop at the moment? Well, we couldn’t help but spill some more of the goodies…
Among the new arrivals is a nifty little invention from Nordic design house Magisso. Now, most of you know how we love our tea here at Hubshop/ Leefstand. So naturally, this little guy has us pretty excited!
Designed by Laura Bougdanos and Vesa Jääskö, the teacup is designed as an all-in-one tea experience; its clever design abolishing the need for fiddly tea-strainers & saucers.
Totally effortless, totally mess-free. Now that’s something we like.
